Wanda V. Groman (nee Florczak), age 97, resident of Riverton since 1960 in a house filled with love, home-cooked meals, and plenty of cats, passed away at St. Mary's Center, Cherry Hill on August 22, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia, Wanda began a life focused on family and selfless caregiving early, leaving school to help raise 2 young nephews, followed by caring for her parents, in-laws, brother Al, and beloved Aunt Annie. Wanda worked in Philadelphia munitions factories during WWII, welding and pressure-testing bazooka barrels. After raising 3 children of her own, she became a proud “Babcia” to seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. During the last year of her husband Edward's life in 2002, she cared for him in his hospital bed in the living room of their house. Proud of her heritage, she kept Polish holiday traditions and cooked the best Polish food around.
Beloved wife of Edward M. (deceased). Loving mother to Rev. E. Owen (deceased), Victoria A. Kristian (Kevin), and Mark K. (Lydia). Dear “Babcia” of Alexandria (deceased), Marcy, Heather, Reeve, George, James, and Emmy, and great-grandmother to Iris.
