Thaddeus F. Marek 98 year old a WWII Army veteran, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday February 2, 2026, a life long lived. Thaddeus “Ted” was one of 12 children, born and raised in the Bridesburg neighborhood of Philadelphia. After returning from war, Ted met his wife, Dorothy (Dorie) they were married for 67 years, before her passing in 2017. They moved to the Wissinoming section of Philadelphia, where they welcomed their three children, Dorie Marie (Ernie), David (Bobbie Ann), Denise (deceased). Ted worked at Stone Container in Torresdale (Formerly Smurfit-Stone Container) for 45 years. They stayed in Philadelphia until 2000, then to move to North Wildwood. Ted and Dorie loved hosting their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren during their time in North Wildwood. In 2015, they made their way to Collegeville, PA, to live with their daughter, Dorie Marie (Ernie). Ted loved spending time with this family, his daily walks, talking to his neighbors in Philly, N.Wildwood and Collegeville and watching the Phillies and Eagles.
Ted was a loving Pop to Andrew Hall (Lindsay), Sean Hall (Elyse Connor), Melissa Madden (Thomas), David Marek Jr, Daniel Marek, Anastasia Voll (Adam) and 11+1 on the way great grandchildren. He is survived by siblings, Helen Kulkinski and Marie Estes.
Relatives and friends are invited to his gravesides services on Friday Feb 6, 2026 precisely at 10:30am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd.,Newtown PA 18940. If you plan on attending the services, please arrive at the cemetery no later than 10:15am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Thaddeus' memory to the Guardians of the National Cemetery.
