Richard W. Dotzman
Richard W. Dotzman (80), formerly of Bensalem, PA and current resident of Sea Isle City, NJ, passed away on December 25, 2020.
Richard was born in Philadelphia to the late Ida Mae and the late Joseph Dotzman. He grew up the youngest of 10 siblings. In his early years, Richard loved playing basketball at St. Boniface and was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School.
Richard married the love of his life Marianne (nee Golden) in 1974, and they would be celebrating 47 years of marriage this February. Rich was a devoted husband and best friend to Marianne. They built a family complete with three adoring children, their "Three Rubies," all born in July: Patrick, Bridget Corbett (Jeff) and Meghan Graham (Brian). You could find Rich on the sidelines of every one of their soccer games and in the stands of any event as their #1 fan and coach. Being a dependable and loving father and husband was of the utmost importance to him, and he did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. Richard's greatest blessings were his six grandchildren: Jake, Aidan, Nolan, Declan, Finn and Maeve. He loved spending time with them whenever he could, and they adored their Pop-pop. Richard is also survived by his brother Charles, four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A true gentleman, Rich was always warm and welcoming to everyone he met and quickly made you feel at home. Rich loved relaxing on his deck in Sea Isle and would wave to all who walked past and those who honked to say "Hi." He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and seeing their football team win the championship was a dream come true. Rich will be dearly missed.
Richard is also survived by Pattianne Phipps, Tracy Wismer and William Dotzman, and was preceded in death by Richard Dotzman, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, 9:30 a.m. at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
