Richard Benner

November 3, 1946 ~ May 25, 2024

Husband, Father, Pop Pop, Friend. Richard was a family first man. He devoted his life to his family doing everything and anything for them whether it was working 2-3 side jobs, science projects, sporting events or killing a spider. He was a man that loved his Philadelphia Phillies, Fishing at Corsons Inlet, a good bowl of pepper pot soup, uncle Bills pancake house, tending to his garden, watching ancient aliens and oak island, chatting with neighbors, electrical work, sunny days, bacon, a cold beer, Kessels Corner, a comfy blanket, 4th of July wake ups , a burnt hotdog, Primos Hoagies, chocolate, the Beatles and Johnny Cash, butterflies, a coke Coca Cola, and Johnson’s popcorn. Richard was an active person enjoying long walks around the neighborhood and beach. He was kind, smart, an electrical genius , Vietnam veteran, patriot, avid reader, and very funny. His strength and humor helped him navigate these last 9 months. He will be missed by anyone that knew him. He is survived by his wife Joanne of 45 years, daughter Erica , son Richard (wife Janice) daughter Christine (husband Thomas), grandson John Benner,  older brother Wesley Benner and younger sister Nancy Benner and many cousins.
