Marion Smith, (Maria Antonina Rojewski) 89, formerly of Bridesburg and Oxford Circle, passed away on May 5th at Gloria Dei in Hatboro, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Smith. Born June 13, 1930 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of John and Catherine Rojewski. She was a graduate of Frankford High School, class of 1948, president of the Home & School Association at Carnell Elementary, and a long-time, faithful parishioner of St. Martin of Tours.
She was a kind and gentle woman, who was known to always have a smile on her face. Marion made the best apple pie known to her family and friends. She loved game shows, bingo, solitaire, uno, pinochle, doll collecting, and crafts like needle pointing. She also never complained about being in pain, even after an open-heart surgery many years ago.
She and her husband, nicknamed Smitty, enjoyed many travels with his old Airforce Unit, the 418th Night Fighters Squadron. They always ran the hospitality room for the group.
She loved calling family and friends on her flip phone, and her phone calls surely will be missed.
Marion leaves behind 4 children Edward (Janice Williams) Bob (Judy), Paul (Bernadette), Cathy (Brian Dwyer) and 4 grandchildren Jackie, Robert (R.J.), Kristyn and Julie.
The immediate family will attend funeral services, and a gathering to celebrate her life will occur after the current crisis has subsided.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to "The Park", 'The Benevolent Fund' , 3455 Davisville Road, Hatboro, Pa 19040 or Jefferson Health Homecare and Hospice, 2510 Maryland Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
