Marie E. Hutchinson (Simpkins) June 12, 1937 March 10, 2022 Wife of the late William R. Hutchinson, and mother of the late George A, survived by her children Glenn A., Mary E. (Basmajian), Robert W., and two stepchildren Christine H. (Parker) and William R. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Marie was also the sister of the late Robert Simpkins, and aunt to two surviving nieces and great aunt to three nephews. Marie was a person of giving, she volunteered for over 20 years at Deborah Health & Lung Hospital in NJ, and almost 30 years at The Philadelphia Protestant Home, NE Phila., as well as all of her churches. She always put God first and helping others. Marie loved two things in life other than God and her family - chocolate and John Wayne. Marie spent her final days in the home of her daughter Mary, where she enjoyed being outside on warm days, watching the birds, especially the cardinal, sitting in the sun and talking to the neighbors. She enjoyed being with family for events and made a new friend in Josie (Mary's dog) with lots of treats and sometimes meals. Marie went home to our Lord at home in peace and comfort surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 10, 2022, after a short time in the hospital. She now joins her husband Bill, her son George, her brother Robert and many other family and friends. Services will be held at Nulty Funeral Home, (NEW LOCATION) 2614 Orthodox Street, Philadelphia PA 19137, on Friday, March 18th, 10:30 am visit with family, 11:30 am Celebration of Life, then to proceed to Greenmount Cemetery for interment.
