LACHOWICZ JOSEPH Passed away on Saturday August 21, 2021. He was one month short of his 97th birthday. He was the beloved husband for 68 wonderful years to the late Helen (nee Sobieski). Treasured father of Janet H. Hildebrand (John F. ), Robert J. Lachowicz (Donnamarie) and Linda M. Sheridan (Jack), adored grandpop to Dominic, Andrew, Walter and Jenna. Sadly missed by great grandchildren. Joseph was the son of Stanley and Anna Lachowicz and the brother of the late Louis Lachowicz. Many relatives and friends have passed before him. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Elaine Lachowicz and Joanna Sobieski along with many nieces and nephews. He proudly served as a Sgt. 1st Class in the US Army Airforce during WWII. His thirst for knowledge and spirit of adventure were the driving forces in his life. Whether it be the sea, fishing on his boat "Ironman" or his love of RC planes or building his own home, he was a man of extraordinary talents. Along with his father and brother they ran Lachowicz and Sons in the Bridesburg section of Phila. This is also where he was born and raised. He resided in Bensalem for 65 years and was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo. Many thanks to familiy, friends (especially Mike) and neighbors for their kindness. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, August 27, 2021 beginning at 10 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 1731 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 A.M. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's memory to American Legion Post 396, 2171 Wakeling St., Phila., PA 19124, Wounded Warriors or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family. It is requested that the usual Covid 19 protocols (masks and social distancing) be observed.
