John M. Burtnick, Sr.

John M. Burtnick, Sr., of Manchester, New Jersey, formerly of Colts Neck, New Jersey,  passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2023. Born in 1947 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Stanley and Edith Burtnick, John attended LaSalle College High School before receiving his Bachelor's degree from Villanova University in 1968. John and his family moved to Colts Neck, NJ where they resided for over 40 years and were active members in the community, serving as president of the Colt Neck Board of Education and Colts Neck Sports Foundation. John worked as Regional Vice President of Liquid Carbonic, but his 20 years as Business Manager at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft was his source of career happiness, where he was able to incorporate his love for education.  John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Annmarie C. 'Dee' Burtnick (nee DeMarshall). Loving father of Annmarie P. Allen (John), John M. Burtnick, Jr. (Carol Jean), Joseph A. Burtnick (Kelly) and Carolyn Burtnick (Katie).  Beloved "Pop Pop" to his grandchildren, Emily, Aidan, Ryan, Ivy and Bryn.  Dear brother of the late Michael R.Burtnick (Virginia). Also sadly missed by many relatives and their families. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 beginning at 10 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic  Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  Funeral Mass 12 Noon.  Inurnment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory to the Ashley Lauren Foundation, 617 Union Avenue, Bldg.3, Suite 27, Brielle, New Jersey 08730 would be appreciated by his family.
