Jessie E. C. Polkowski

March 6, 1950 — March 11, 2026

Philadelphia

It is with heavy hearts we would like to share that Jessie Polkowski, beloved Father, Pop Pop and Brother, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on March 11, 2026 at the age of 76 years old.

Our father was an extraordinary man in so many ways. He was loyal, kind, wise, hard working, honest, giving, funny, a prankster and best of all, so loving. Whether you were a family member or friend, if he loved you, you absolutely knew it. He went out of his way to be sure that those he loved, knew they were loved. He was so special to us. He made life so much fun and he will be forever missed.

Jessie was born in Germany and was a resident of the Bridesburg community of Philadelphia for 70 years. He loved his neighborhood and his city. He loved bowling and was a member of the Mad Dogs bowling league at Point No Point for decades. He loved Philly Sports and most of all he LOVED the Eagles! To call him an avid sports fan would be inadequate. He was a season ticket holder for over 30 years. Jessie never missed a game. When he was no longer able to attend the games in person, he still did not miss a game. It was well known and a standing rule to all that there would be no phone calls, visits or interruptions of any kind while the game was on.

Jessie was a proud veteran of the US Air Force Reserves from 1970-1976 where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Our dad was an excellent father and a truly amazing man. He was so special to each of us and we will cherish every precious memory. Life will not be the same without him and he will be forever loved and missed.

Jessie was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Margot (nee Haerer) Polkowski, his sister Silvia Polkowski and his grandson Jacob Neace.

He is survived by his daughter Roxanne Polkowski, his son Jason Polkowski, grandchildren Kristen Rayburn, Caitlin Polkowski (Sean Woodson), Gabby Polkowski (Chris Finley), Vanessa Polkowski, Ashley Polkowski, 6 great grandchildren and his dear sister Rita Polkowski.

No services will be held per Jessie’s request.
