Jane Mary Matynka

Jane Mary Matynka (nee Donohue) passed away at the age of 90 on August 12, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Henry Matynka. Devoted mother of Raymond W. Matynka (Diane), Joyce “Cookie” Nowicki (Richard) and Paul J. Matynka (Teresa). Dear Mom Mom of Katie Edmonds (Andrew), Amy Gramiak (Steve), Evan Matynka, Morgan Palmer (Lewis), Ryan Matynka, Kyle Matynka (Alyssa), Mark Matynka and the late Matthew Matynka. Mom Mom Jane to Gavin, Tommy, Aubree, Lewis, Vienna and Emma. Longtime friend of the late Frank Cimoch. Jane is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Jane went to work for Rohm & Haas in the Bridesburg community in Philadelphia. She met her husband Raymond where she made her house a home, raising three children in the Bridesburg community. Jane worked very hard raising three children after losing her husband at such a young age. Later in life, she truly enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to the family picnics and was always ready for a game of cards. Jane also enjoyed her friends she met at Parx casino. She spent time there often, making friends and enjoying the “Parx casino giveaways”. She loved to share those giveaways with her family, even sharing some of her winnings when she was lucky. Jane will always be deeply loved and missed by her family and all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 from 9:30am-11am at the St. John Cantius Chapel, 4412 E. Thompson St. Phila., PA 19137. Her funeral mass will begin at 11am. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
