Ellen M. Hopkins Jackson born July 10th 1941 died October 15th 2017 Beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend. Born in Philadelphia to Ellen (McCloskey) and Maurice Hopkins. The middle of three sisters, Regina the eldest and Frances the youngest have both already departed. Wife of 50+ years to Joseph Jackson with whom she built a life full of love and the many blessings that surrounded them until his death in June of 2016. Loving and caring Mother of Ellen, Tracy (husband Michael Bradley), Kelly (partner Heather Burke) the late Robin, and Step-Mother of Michael (wife Rita Jackson). Survived by 9 grandchildren Ellen, Tracy, Joseph, Erin, Michael , Christopher, Michael, Matthew and Samuel. As well as 8 great grandchildren. The family is grieving the loss of our matriarch at this trying time. Friends and loved ones also mourn the departure of one of the most honest, dependable and strong willed people to touch your life. There will forever be a void in our family and nothing can possibly fill the space left in our hearts. We love you always Mom-Mom, watch over us and we'll do our best to make you proud as we attempt to pull the pieces back together. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Thursday 10 AM at the Slabinski Funeral Home 2614 Orthodox Street. Funeral Service will begin 12 noon. Interment will be held privately.
