Edward A. Pelczar

Rev. Edward A. Pelczar, 86, passed away on October 19, 2022. Son of the late Walter C. and Irene J. Pelczar. Dear uncle of Lawrence Pelczar (Rita) and Judy Midgette (Michael) and great uncle of Laura, Alex, Abby Pelczar and Jeffrey and Daniel Midgette. Also sadly missed by many cousins and their families. Father Pelczar was a priest son of St. John Cantius Parish in Bridesburg and was ordained in 1962 by John Cardinal Krol. Prior to his retirement in 2012, Father Pelczar served in various capacities in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as an Assistant Pastor, Parochial Vicar and most recently as Chaplain at Temple University Hospital. Religious, relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 beginning at 10 AM at St. John Cantius Church, 4420 E. Thompson St., Phila., PA 19137. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 AM and will be celebrated by Bishop Edward M. Deliman. Burial to follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Father Pelczar's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Del. Valley chapter, 399 Market St.,- Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 would be appreciated by his family.
