Dolores Carter

Dolores Carter (nee Wisniewski), age 79, of Philadelphia, PA, peacefully passed away on August 4, 2026, at one of her favorite places – down the shore.

Dolores shared nearly 63 years with her beloved husband, Richard Carter. Together they made their home in Philadelphia, PA, spending their summers down the shore. Dolores is survived by her daughter, Maureen Cummiskey (nee Carter) and her husband, Eddie; her son-in-law, Michael J. DeAngelis; her seven grandchildren, Jen Bennetch (nee Osborn) and her wife, Brooke; Rich Osborn and his wife, Erika, Erin Cummiskey, Kerri McCain (nee Cummiskey) and her husband, Chris, Michael P. DeAngelis, Anthony DeAngelis, and Dominic DeAngelis and his wife, Evelyn; and her four great-grandchildren. Dolores is pre-deceased by her beloved daughter, Dolores (Dee) DeAngelis, her grandson, Nick DeAngelis, and her parents, Dolores and Edward Wisniewski.

Dolores was born in Philadelphia, PA, attending Saint HubertCatholic High School for Girls before dedicating 25 years of service to Strawbridge and Clothier. After leaving the corporate world, she enjoyed working at the local deli alongside her niece and later cherished the time she spent caring for several of her grandchildren.

Above all else, Dolores was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, creating memories at the beach, fishing on her boat, strolling the boardwalk, celebrating at family parties, riding bikes together, and watching Philly sports. She especially loved being down the shore, where she felt most at home.

Dolores also enjoyed listening to music, reading, shopping, taking thousands upon thousands of pictures, and everything about Christmas. Family was the center of her world, and the love and laughs she shared with them will be remembered always.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a firecracker – strong-willed, no-nonsense, deeply sentimental, and fiercely devoted to her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her and in the countless memories they shared together.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 10am-12 noon at the Slabinski Sucharski Funeral Home, 2614 Orthodox St. Phila., PA 19137. (Parking on premises). A prayer service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
