Charles W. “Cigar Charlie” Wszolek

June 11, 1938 – December 1, 2023

Loving son of the late Walter and Julia Wszolek. Cherished brother of the late Lorraine Connerton. Beloved uncle of John Connerton (Miriam), Jane Connerton, Lynne Connerton (Dorothy Mannino), Colleen Wahl (Jerry), Steven Connerton (Chrissy), loving great-uncle to Julie, Belinda, Michelle, Lauren, Julianna, Mason, Cayden, and Ethan.

Charles proudly served in the United States Army and as a Philadelphia Police Officer for 21 years until his retirement after being shot in the line of duty. He deeply cherished the opportunity to work with his fellow officers and to serve people in the neighborhoods he patrolled. He was especially appreciative of the continued support all of these years from Captain Lou Campione of the FOP and Joe Gorka of the Polish Police.

He was a proud coach of local youth baseball and football for many years and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, enjoyed country music, old movies, and had a special bond with his late dog Jasmine.
